The weather is heating up and that means one thing…it is time to break out the BBQ!
It is one of the best and healthiest ways to cook, and gives everyone an excuse to enjoy the beautiful New England summers. But how do you keep it interesting?
Burgers, Hotdogs and steak are great and delicious, but variety is the spice of life, right? Here are 5 tips to keep things on the grill interesting this summer.
Kabob night is a terrific way to make a fast and healthy dinner and use some of the left over produce from your salad. Shrimp with grape tomatoes and onions, chicken, peach slices and green pepper make great combinations and prevent waste.
Replace meat with a Portobello mushroom, topped with a fresh tomato from the garden and a little cheese. Drizzle balsamic vinegar to finish and you have a tasty meal, right off the grill!
Don’t forget the veggies! Grilled asparagus, squash, tomatoes and peppers are all delicious right off the grill. Spray with non stick spray to keep things from sticking.
Have left over meat or veggies from tonight’s dinner? Cut them up and throw them on the grill as a topping to pizza or the inside of a quesadilla. Both cook great on the grill so you can keep your house and kitchen cool.
Try summer fruit salsas to add a twist to chicken or fish. Pineapple, Lime and Cilantro and Strawberry, Lemon Mint are two of our favorites.
